Clegg impact soil tester - Model CIST/883 - Datalogging and wireless data transfer

The Clegg Impact Soil Tester model CIST/883 for measuring and controlling soil strength and consolidation levels.

A known mass, the Clegg Hammer, is dropped from a fixed distance and deceleration is measured as the hammer hits the ground. Four successive trials determine the Clegg Impact Value.

Constructed with a hardened steel hammer inside a durable tube, the Clegg will give you years of reliable, accurate service.

The model CIST/883 features on board data logging and data storage with wireless data transfer facilities. The results can be downloaded to PC, wirelessly, using the PC software supplied.

CIST/883/4.5kg/Stor/Blu 'Standard' hammer
Civil engineering & construction industry standard Clegg for monitoring and measuring surface compaction, re-instatement etc. The 4.5kg standard hammer Clegg provides a compact and reliable instrument for monitoring and controlling the quality of reinstatements while the work is in progress, avoiding the need for re-excavation.

• Software selectable 'Readout':
  • 'Standard' - Readout Unit displays readings of Impact Value (IV) and also shows the number of times that the hammer has been dropped during each test operation
  • 'TREND' - Readout Unit displays readings of Impact Value (IV). The TREND Algorithm checks inter-IV readings & Readout advises user if surface being tested has failed (Readout displays ‘ABORT’).
  • '%CBR' - Readout Unit displays direct readings in % CBR (california bearing ratio) and also shows the number of times that the hammer has been dropped during each test operation

CIST/883/2.25kg/Stor/Blu 'Medium' hammer
The CIST/882/2.25kg 'medium' hammer was developed for measuring shock attenuation characteristics of the softer, natural and artificial sports surfaces such as horse and dog tracks, equestrian arenas etc.

• The CIST/883/2.25kg Readout Unit displays readings of 'Gravities' and also shows the number of times that the hammer has been dropped during each test operation

CIST/883/0.5kg/Stor/Blu 'Light' hammer
The CIST/882/0.5kg 'light' hammer was developed for measuring shock attenuation characteristics of the softer, natural and artificial sports surfaces such as golf greens, cricket pitches, tennis courts, football and rugby pitches.

• The CIST/883/0.5kg Readout Unit displays readings of 'Gravities' and also shows the number of times that the hammer has been dropped during each test operation
