Neotronics Impact IR gas detector uses infrared sensing technology

The Neotronics Impact range of portable gas detectors is now available with infrared (IR) sensing technology to monitor and display up to four gases simultaneously.

Infrared technology allows the Impact to monitor methane and natural gas in oxygen free environments such as ships holds where oxygen is absent or where inert gases have been used to protect flammable compounds. Infrared sensors are immune to poisoning from sulphurous materials, silicones or greases.

Note: %LEL and %VOL flammable sensors are linear to methane (natural gas), but are able to detect other hydrocarbons. Hydrogen (H2) cannot be detected using the infrared principle.

Infrared sensors are also ideal for monitoring carbon dioxide (CO2), providing stable, drift free readings.

Complemented by the high specification oxygen and patented Surecell™ toxic sensors, the Impact IR gas detector is able to accept the serviceable cartridge technology ensuring safe, accurate and reliable gas detection. Ultra-bright alarm lights and a powerful audible alarm, coupled with a periodic green flash and bleep, provide user confidence that monitoring is always in operation and alarms are never missed. In addition the Neotronics Impact uses a large, multi-lingual, backlit display with intuitive menu system to ease use and minimise operator training.

The Neotronics Impact IR gas detector has a built-in motorised pump for remote detection using the range of sampling accessories and the compliance friendly Safelink communications system.

The Impact IR is just one of the Neotronics (Zellweger) comprehensive range of personal and portable hazardous gas detectors available from Honeywell Analytics (manufacturers of toxic and flammable gas detection systems under the BW Technologies, Lumidor, MDA Scientific, Sieger and Zareba brands). For further details see the Impact and Impact Pro multi gas detection instruments.
